Organizer Details:
Tata Crucible Campus Hackathon- The Tata group has always strived to take initiatives that offer young minds a platform to showcase their talents. Adding a hackathon to the Tata Crucible platform is an effort to make young minds think differently. We launched the Corporate Edition in 2017 and organized the first campus edition earlier in 2018. The second edition of the Tata Crucible Corporate hacathon took place in 2018. We are now pleased to announce the second edition of the Tata Crucible Campus hackathon. .
Tata Group's Technology and Innovation Group is the content partner of the Tata Crucible hackathon.
Full-time students from all over India are encouraged to submit innovative solutions to solve the problems we face for the campus hackathon, and to be recognized.
Problem Statements:
1.Identifying diamonds with handheld detectors - Develop a device or detector to stay alert for misuse and diamond theft, which is very difficult because of its small size.
2.Checking Coolant Mist During the Winter Season - Water-based coolants used in high speed grinders tend to create a thick mist. Coolant used during the high speed process, splashing on the cutting area and fine droplets escape through the grinder door slots and form a thick fog causing poor visibility in the shop. The problem is serious, especially in winter. In addition to reducing visibility in the workshops, fog also raises a number of workplace health issues. Therefore, we are looking for innovative solutions to combat the generation of mists from coolants used in the high speed machining process.
3.Low-cost technology solution for effective disinfection of community toilets - Maintenance is the key issue of community / household toilets in urban areas (mainly connected to sewer systems). Due to a very frequent use, the risk of microbial contamination in these places is high, which is often neglected during maintenance and cleaning. Autonomous technology allowing autonomous intervention or user behavior, which is affordable (maintains an overall usage cost of less than Rs 1 per use), capable of effectively disinfecting toilets and ensuring proper maintenance, especially for community toilets used frequently.
4.Pothole Tracking and Measurement of Noise Level (dB) and Lighting Level (Lux) in Cities and Maps on Google Maps - Smart City Enabler - Develop a system for measuring and mapping noise and lighting levels in a city, as well as pothole tracking for commuter comfort and safety as well as improved urban planning.
5.Development of innovative safety measures for two-wheelers - Develop innovative safety solutions for two-wheelers using the latest technologies to eliminate or minimize the risks and impact of accidents. These may be innovations for the bike itself or for the cyclist (for example, stability of the bike / development of clothing equipment improving the safety of the cyclist). PROTOTYPE is a MUST for this challenge.
