The objective of the challenge is based on OPPO's mission: technology for humanity, kindness for the world, and its brand proposition "Inspiration Ahead". Through The Challenge, OPPO and its partners across the global technology ecosystem aim to bring new and innovative solutions to life by providing funding, support and partnership opportunities. The theme of the OPPO Inspiration Challenge 2023 is “Virtuous Innovation”. Proposals submitted should fit within this overarching theme, while also explicitly addressing one of the two categories: Inspiration for People or Inspiration for the Planet.
Inspiration for People:
Innovative Solutions for Digital Health and Accessible Technology
This category is a call for technologies, products and services related to digital health and accessible technology. It includes health algorithms; hardware sensor innovations i.e. the integration of new and advanced sensors into daily health monitoring devices; innovative products for digital health monitoring; accessibility assistive technologies; and technology designed for the elderly. The primary focus of this category is to make technology accessible and beneficial to everyone.
Inspiration for the Planet: Innovative Solutions for Environmental Protection and Low-Carbon Development
Aligned with OPPO's pledge to achieve carbon neutrality in its operations by 2050, this category calls for innovative solutions related to environmental protection and low-carbon development as applied to consumer electronics. It includes renewable energy; sustainable materials and packaging; green production processes; recycling of electronic products; and carbon emission digital management. The primary focus of this category is to minimize the environmental impact of electronic product manufacturing or usage, and to promote sustainable development through technology.

Who Can Apply:
The Challenge is open to anyone engaged in technological innovation-related work. Startups, non-profit organizations, research institutions, groups, and individuals with preliminary research results or demo products, services or solutions are also welcome.
Evaluation Criteria:
1) Feasibility
Can the proposal be applied or produced within one to two years based on existing or foreseeable technology.
Can the proposed solution be integrated with existing products, services, and technology.
The potential impact, economic and brand value of the proposal.
2) Innovation and Originality
The extent of the proposed technological breakthrough, its forward-looking nature, and disruptive potential within the industry.
The value that the solution offers and its ability to improve productivity and resource utilization.
3) Long-Term Potential
The compatibility of the proposal with policies and industry trends.
The maturity and marketability of the proposed solution’s business model.
The efficacy and reliability of existing funding for the solution’s development.
The background of the applicant(s) and core team members.
4) Social Values
Whether the proposed solution reflects one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Whether the applicant demonstrates equality, inclusiveness and diversity.
Whether the proposed solution closes gaps in access to resources, or provides opportunities for minority groups.

Rewards:
US$ 50,000 for each Top 5 winner from the global final demo event
The global top 15 will be invited to participate in an Acceleration Camp and meet with OPPO senior executives, technology and investment experts, and industry partners.
Further partnership opportunities are open to the global top 45, including, but not limited to
Productization and commercialization opportunities: an incubation fund totaling US$190,000 will be set up to co-develop solutions for implementation.
Strategic partnership and investment opportunities.
Opportunities to showcase at global technology events.
Opportunity to receive cloud resources and technical support from Amazon Web Services.
