Contest Background:

iTNT brings together a variety of skills to create vibrant, interdisciplinary teams at iTNT Innovation Challenges for startups and students of Tamil Nadu. They offer a community that encourages experimentation and creativity, together with mentorship, resources, and a safe space. Participants gain the tools and knowledge necessary to take on obstacles head-on through workshops and practice.

With the help of cutting-edge technologies, participants in the iTNT Innovation Challenges can solve challenges in the real world. Participants can take on a variety of problems and quickly prototype novel solutions that influence the course of history.

Contest Stages:

Stage 1: Idea Pitch

Objective

Evaluate the creativity, feasibility, and impact of the proposed ideas

Process

  1. Submission: Participants submit a brief pitch of their idea, including:

    • Problem statement they are addressing.

    • Proposed solution overview.

    • Potential impact and benefits.

    • Basic implementation plan.

  2. Evaluation Criteria:

    • Innovation (25%): How unique and creative is the idea?

    • Relevance (25%): How well does the idea address the specified problem statement?

    • Feasibility (25%): Is the proposed solution technically and practically achievable?

    • Impact (25%): What is the potential impact of the solution on the manufacturing domain?

  3. Outcomes:

    • Selected teams proceed to the second stage based on their pitch evaluation scores.


Stage 2: Full Presentation

Objective

Assess the detailed project plan, including technical feasibility and end-to-end flow.

Process

  1. Presentation: Selected teams present a comprehensive plan, covering:

    • Detailed problem analysis.

    • Complete solution architecture.

    • Implementation steps and timeline.

    • Technical specifications and requirements.

    • Risk analysis and mitigation strategies.

    • Expected outcomes and metrics for success.

  2. Evaluation Criteria:

    • Technical Depth (30%): How well-developed is the technical plan? Are the chosen technologies appropriate?

    • End-to-End Flow (25%): Is the implementation plan comprehensive and logically structured?

    • Scalability (20%): Can the solution be scaled for larger applications or different scenarios?

    • Risk Management (15%): Are potential risks identified and addressed effectively?

    • Presentation Quality (10%): How clear and professional is the presentation?

  3. Outcomes:

    • Based on their presentation evaluation scores, top-performing teams proceed to the final stage.


Stage 3: Product Development and Demonstration

Objective

Evaluate the practical implementation and functionality of the developed product.

Process

  1. Development: Teams build their product based on their proposed solution.

  2. Demonstration: Teams present and demonstrate their working product, highlighting:

    • How it addresses the problem.

    • Key features and functionalities.

    • Real-time performance and results.

  3. Evaluation Criteria:

    • Functionality (30%): Does the product work as intended? Are all key features implemented?

    • Usability (20%): How user-friendly and intuitive is the product?

    • Innovation (20%): How innovative is the final product compared to existing solutions?

    • Technical Execution (20%) How well was the product built technically? Is it stable and reliable?

    • Impact and Potential (10%): What is the product's potential impact on the industry?

  4. Outcomes:

    • Winners are chosen based on their scores in the final evaluation.

Contest Timeline:


Who can Apply:

  • The Challenge is open to all Tamil Nadu DPIIT-registered startups and professors from various institutions (“Subject Matter Experts”).

  • Preference would be given to innovative ideas for which patent has already been filed or can be filed in the future.


Rewards:

  • 1.5 Lakh INR Each for top 3 Teams
