About the contest:

Texas Instruments, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), based on the AICTE mission, is proud to announce the DST Design Contest & Texas Instruments India Innovation Challenge 2019 organized by NSRCEL, the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), and supported by MyGov. The competition is open to all Indian engineering students pursuing graduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies in Indian engineering colleges .

Terms and Condition:

The team leader must follow the steps below to participate

  1. The contest runs in English all the way. All relevant information, including the online registration form, is in English. Therefore, each individual participant (the "participants") must be fluent in English.

  2. All prizes will be awarded and paid in INR to the team leader of a qualified team. The team leader is required to pay the corresponding amount to each member of his team. The organizers will not be responsible in any case for the distribution of prizes among the members of the team.

  3. Funds and prizes The taxes are the sole responsibility of the awarded teams. Prices may be subject to tax returns and other purposes. The team members concerned agree to provide the organizers with all the information necessary to act in the same way and to cooperate fully to meet all applicable legal requirements.

  4. By submitting a submission to the competition, all teams guarantee and declare that, to the best of their knowledge, their submission is original and does not infringe or deflect any trade secret, know-how, copyright, patent or other intellectual property of third. right. Participants also warrant and represent that there are no legal or other obligations of any kind that would prohibit, restrict or interfere with their participation in the Contest or the submission of their design report, and agree to obtain the required authorizations, authorizations and / or controls. or pre-participation approvals.

  5. Participants agree that no information submitted by participants will be treated confidentially by the organizers, including, without limitation, the information described in section 7. For the avoidance of doubt, certain information submitted by participants may be considered being exclusive, such as: information likely to attract intellectual property rights, including, without limitation, copyrights, trademarks and patents, all kinds of inventions, innovations or innovative ideas. However, by participating in this contest, entrants expressly waive their right to keep such confidential information confidential.

  6. Each team and each participant grants the organizers a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free right and license to publish their project reports, designs, and other submitted information, or any portion thereof, or any modifications thereto. relationship with Texas Instruments products, technical or commercial publications, advertisements or promotional activities, including but not limited to technical articles, data sheets, application notes, reference drawings or Internet publications of organizers or third parties. The organizers reserve the right to publish the drawings without attribution.   7. DATA PROTECTION, CONSENT TO THE USE OF PERSONAL DATA: The personal data (as defined below) provided by the participants and the faculty mentor during the competition will be used by the organizers as well as by the service providers ( for example, website hosting services) retained by the organizers. as data calculators, for the purposes of the contest.   8. NO LICENSE UNDER ANY TECHNOLOGY, BUSINESS SECRETS, "KNOW-HOW", COPYRIGHTS, PATENTS, TRADEMARKS OR OTHER INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF IT, ITS SUBSIDIARIES OR THIRD PARTIES ARE GRANTED TO UNDERTAKINGS UNDER DISPUTE.

  9. By entering the Contest, each entrant agrees to release the organizers and its affiliates from any loss, damage, right, claim or action of any nature resulting from (i) an exclusion or disqualification of such entrant in accordance with this Regulation; (ii) late, lost, misdirected or unsuccessful efforts to inform the winners of any prize; (iii) the forfeiture of a prize and the selection of another winner; (iv) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible or incomprehensible entries; (v) malfunctions, failures or difficulties of any kind related to a telephone, electronic, hardware or software, network, Internet or computer program; (vi) failed, incomplete, truncated or delayed computer transmissions; (vii) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the organizer that may result in the disruption or corruption of the contest; and (viii) any injury, loss or damage of any kind related to participation in this Contest.

  10. The organizers reserve the right to cancel, to cancel, to modify or to suspend (temporarily) this contest when the law requires it or in case of impediment to the execution of this contract due to a failure of one contractual partners of the organizer or a delay in the execution of the contract. funding, or a case of force majeure, or if it is technically corrupt or if, for whatever reason, the Internet portion of the contest is unable to function as intended, including computer virus infections, bugs, alteration, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or other. any other cause beyond the control of the organizer likely to corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or smooth running of the contest.   11. With regard to any suit, action, proceeding, claim or litigation in connection with this contest, the courts located in Bangalore (India) have sole jurisdiction.

  • Registration Phase- July  2019 – Aug 2019

  • Quarterfinals Phase Submission - Oct 2019

  • Quarterfinals Phase  Results - Nov 30, 2019

  • Shipment of tools to Semi Finalists teams - Dec 2019 – Jan 2020

  • Semi Finals 1st Interim Submission - Feb  2020

  • Semi Finals 2nd Interim Submission - Mar  2020

  • Semi Finals 3rd Interim Submission - Apr 2020

  • Semi Finals Results - May 31st 2019

  • Finals Event - July 2020

Who can apply:

  • The competition is open to all Indian engineering students pursuing graduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies in Indian engineering schools.

  • All participants must be Indian nationals

  • TI will provide free IT tools worth up to $ 200 for each team. You must use all TI devices in your solution.


Prize & Recognition:

The Top 30 Finalist teams will further develop their product and selected teams be invited to Final Evaluation event in July 2020 and Top 10 teams will be selected for Incubation at IIM Bangalore. Top teams will receive additional seed fund from DST to launch their startup.

Awards: Gold Certificate from DST – TI, AICTE, IIMB forthe Top 10 winning teams Cash Prizes from TI to Top 3 teams Cash Prize for Best Women team Funding from DST inclusive of stipend for Top teamsfor next 12 months.
